You would think it was a friendly and welcoming place, with the drawbridge down and the gate open, and even the flags flying cheerfully in the breeze. However, the light that basks the glorious castle is not by any means natural, and because of this, it is also slightly disconcerting.
The light comes from the giant metal plate that is supported far above by the castle's great towers. The light does not seem to come from any particular points on the plate, it just shines down. The point of having such a tremendous disc of metal suspended above the castle is not readily apparent, but it certainly does make the castle look more intimidating and foreboding than it otherwise would.
